Excellent start - we have red squirrels where I live, on almost the most southern point of the Isle of Wight - they don't hang around long, waiting to be drawn: I did post some photographs my landlord took of them, here on the site's picture resource.... I think they're still there. They have considerable colour variation, individually and seasonally - one of 'ours' is almost black, another is a rich chestnut red, beautiful when the sun catches it. Long may they flourish here - your preliminary work certainly catches the subject: looking forward to seeing the finished result.

Thank's Tessa, CJ, Hillary and Ron for taking the time to look and comment, Ron, I only have a set of 12, Derwent inktense pencils so I am limited to a certain amount of colour so I have to choose carefully, but this is probably a good thing. Have a go with them, I colour small areas at a time, lightly at first then blend darker as I go along adding a fair amount of water. You can achieve some lovely effects. Best to try on something small at first and get the feel for them, i'm ssure you will like them.
