Prussian blue is cold - very cold. There is a group of American painters who pop up on YouTube and elsewhere insisting that Prussian and Pthalo blues are warm - partly on the grounds that they're strong; but they just haven't understood the concept of "warm and cool"; it means that certain colours lean towards (and carry, in their composition) green; while others, the warm, tend towards, and carry, red. So Ultramarine is warm, and there's a red shade to make it warmer, because it's the only blue to carry significant amounts of red - Cobalt Blue can be marginal in that respect; all the others are green-inclining, and you can tell that by mixing Prussian or Pthalo Blue with Burnt Umber or Burnt Sienna: you'll get a very deep (and often very useful) green; whereas if you mix either of them with Ultramarine, you'll get a deep brown or black.
As these artists prove though, you can paint a perfectly acceptable picture and remain in blissful ignorance of the actual difference - it's not a concept with a lot of actual science behind it; until Michael Wilcox analysed colour (see the Michael Wilcox School of Colour) the concept was vaguer still.
This is possibly more than anyone wished to know....

Manage to do a bit more this afternoon, not much more now and I will call it a day otherwise I start to fiddle with it.
I gone with the light blue Cerulean in the left hand panel and with follow through with the others .
The right hand one I’ve done a bit more detail it’s a much paler colour than the other two but I painted it as I love the colour in the original photo but I’ve adjusted them slightly.

Thank you Carol I intend using the same colour n all three panels , it will look better than three different colours and link them together. I don’t have a favourite of the three but do particularly like the right hand colours , it’s that one that gave the the idea of doing three different panels. I have an idea for another one but not trees next time .

As a tree lover, more trees the merrier I say.
When repairing the stone walls about the farm I'm always on the lookout for bark fossils, and other things of course.
The most interesting, so far, is what looks like a portion of snake skin. Could be some sort of plant?? What do you think? I'll be taking it to the Museum in Cardiff, to see what they make of it. There's a lot more in there but I don't have the expert eye.

Be interesting to find out what it is from if that’s possible , looks like some sort of bark to me the trees that were growing when that was laid down would have been tropical I think .
I have added the colour to the background and thinks it’s just about finished now , I did notice a couple of things I need to change but it’s minor adjustments. Will leave it a day or so before posting on the gallery so that I can look again and touch up if needed.
