Your step-by-step demos are art lessons in themselves - and thinking of that: Search Press publish a number of books in generally rather more traditional painting styles: but there are many people who'd like to paint like you, or anyway would like to paint cars, machines, primarily urban settings as opposed to leafy landscapes: have you ever thought of approaching them, or other publishers, to see if your work might make a book? Because I'm quite sure it would, if only a publisher had the foresight to appreciate it.

Went to our monthly Mustang meet at the very Diner featured in this painting tonight - the yellow Mustang was there as well! Came home inspired and thought I’d paint some detail. Got some of the stainless wall behind the car in, along with most of the screen:
Here’s where painting what’s there, not what you think should be there, comes into it. Some pale green in the stainless when viewed through the glass, and the dark interior of the car actually reflects almost electric blue in places.

Was going to finish the screen off tonight Dixie but bottled it :) thought I’d pint the stainless on the front of the Diner instead:
That was interesting because I removed a couple of large signs from either side of the doors so had to guess the reflections in the stainless.
In my usual scattergun style I also did the front plate - this somehow defines the car for me, gives it an identity (of course). Will get more detail in on the front end tomorrow.

Going to try and get the Diner well in by end of play tomorrow so I can finish the car off next week.

The wheel centre is very dark, with only suggestions of detail like the wheel nuts, another case of painting what you see rather than what you know is there.
