Hi dear friends. I've finished pyrography artwork, and I've planned to start off with baby portrait or my sister's dog in graphite - as I've realised the pyrography even it's so interesting, it also has its limitations regarding shading ... which usually ending with burnt patches instead... Well. I couldn't find the reference of the baby, but searching through the photos I got attracted by my mum picture taken two years ago while she was visiting our house. Regardless of the previous idea in my mind - I have begun drawing her lovely face surrounded by leaves, which forming sort of a beautiful frame... I hope I can manage to draw it nicely. ● TAP to watch it... ●Arteza Acrylic Pad (the back side - no texture) ●A3 size. ●Face - Wolff's Carbon pencils. ●Foliage - Staedtler Mars Lumograph pencils.

I've got three in Memoriam portraits on the go, or in preparation - including one of my mum; wishing you success with yours; I wonder if closeness to peopl might hinder us in looking at them objectively, but think what's really hindering me is working from photographs.  Still - we've to to make the attempt, somehow, haven't we?  It seems oddly neglectful not to try. Good luck with yours.

Thanks for keen words Robert. I'm glad you're about to draw your mum too 😊 It's very special moment when attempting portrait of our parent - I think. I'm drawing many things, other people's beloved members, but never my own parents. That's maybe a lie, as I was drawing their faces while being a child, with regular ball pen (😉). I'm going to visit my mum next month in Poland, so it's actually a good moment/idea to surprise her with this little gift? She has her birthday in (at?) December too, so it'll be even more complimenting I guess. I was told many times I'm much better of drawing animals, but human face is always challenging me... Let's hope I make it nice enough to put a smile on her face ☺️  And yes, I know it very well, that even if I ruin this portraiture - she will be happy have it whatsoever 😀     I couldn't hold back myself, but begin adding foliage around 😉

Some more detailed work. I'm usually leaving the eyes unattended till very late, nobody likes it, including myself! It's just unwanted habit I'm struggling get rid off... But I'm trying (at least 😉) - this is an example of my good will 😊 ● TAP to watch it...

A bit more progress this morning... I have cold since last Friday, so basically out of energy for everything but drawing 😉   I got up early today, so here we go ☺️
You can already see the character of this lady coming through.  Get over your cold, don't force yourself to work if it's tiring you out, but I know we're all looking forward to seeing where you take this.
Art it’s Loki g so good your mum will be so pleased when she sees it . I have done quite a bit of pyrography in the past but nothing a delicate as this it looks almost like a drawing which it is of course but with a hot nib. I do t k ow of people realise how easy it is to scorch the wood .
This is  beautiful Pog. .

Dear Paul! - forgive me if I've confused you, but it isn't pyrography this time, I got back to the graphite, as with pyrography I couldn't do the portrait to look realistically enough to please my taste. With the hot tip it would be too challenging- the flesh tones... It's my bad - I didn't mention it's graphite - so sorry Paul, I should have! I have updated the description moment ago, so I won't confuse anybody else... Thanks a lot for complimenting it already, I'll try my best to draw my mum nicely 😉
