'I can't even draw a straight line' is a familiar remark from many who aren't really interested in drawing or painting as if drawing a 'straight line' is a rudimentary skill. Well it's a skill I always struggle with so when I look at this Malcolm I'm mightily impressed, and not just with the straight lines! Terrific work.Russell, Yes, if I had 50p for everytime someone has said that, I could retire, haha!!! I think that like most things, especially art, the more you practice the easier (never easy but definitely easier!!!) it becomes. Lines seem to be one of 'my things' though as a lot of what I draw involves them in one way or another. Having said that often drawing things which aren't straight lines, and get them right can be much harder. Thanks for your kind words.

I like what I like not what someone think I should like , I’m fan of loose paintings and of the highly detailed work you produce Malcolm ,definitely when it’s subject I like . Old vehicles of all types are on my list and you produce some of the best ones Malcolm , more interesting as they are wip and we see them developing.Paul, Very true, and it would be awful to have to paint what you don't want to do, and usually it never works out either. Like you I know what I like so I am pleased you like what I do. My WIP show no logic whatsoever, unlike some other media where there has to be much more of a 'plan' but when painting its just doing a part that 'takes my fancy' at that moment and then on to another part and rarely finishing one part before moving on to the next part. Like you I like to see others WIP and how they progress.

As an artist I am plagued by what I call 'white paper syndrome'. For me this is where the amount of white paper still showing overpowers the work done so far and it takes some effort to look past that so that I can visualise what it will eventually look like. This painting has now finally hit the point where the colour outweighs the white and is starting to look more like it will when finished and I am happy with it so far. The difference having the building on the left, almost done for me is incredible. Now starting to work on the buildings in the distance. Soon just be the foreground roadway and the car itself to do.

Well, it's .... just about perfection. Yes, I'm not a huge fan of the highly detailed in general, but when I see this - well, all my reservations fall away. It's excellent work and admirably done. Not only that, but it brings back and revitalizes an era - you must be proud of this? You should be!

Here is what will be the penultimate post on this WIP as it's now nearly done.
