It's been a while, but here is a current project which I have had part drawn for quite some time and decided to make some progress with. Let's see how this one goes. As per usual a watercolour on Hahnemuhle paper.
Look forward to seeing progress on this one Malcolm, love your railway paintings! You were working a lot looser last years, out of curiosity which do you prefer?
Your patience is amazing Malcolm

To be honest Anthony, most of my work is now the 'looser' style which I really enjoy, but I do have this serious 'problem' with detail, where I can't help myself (as you know). I think there is a place for both styles. I am finding that the loose style is easier and much quicker, with some subjects than others, which I like as you get to see the results much faster.  I suspect that whilst I continue to develop my looser style I will still do this super detailed work as well, albeit on a lesser frequency, as they take so long to complete.  We shall see!!! Hope all this waffle makes sense. Malcolm

Hi Sylvia, not sure if it's patience or some form of disease!!!! Malcolm
Makes perfect sense, it’s hard to ease back on the detail when you have an eye for it, in my opinion - it just keeps sneaking back in!
Some progress made up to last night. A while since I have done work like this, so a nice change.
I don't know about anyone else, but there are times when you say to yourself 'this needs something else' while working on a painting. I did this yesterday while working on the front area. I have now added the driver standing at the front, and I think that this was the missing something.

Good move Malcolm, it’s broken that edge up which really helps. It’s all about the detail sometimes! Looks very promising!  Well beyond my skill level…

Adding that driver makes it more of a story. I shall keep up with your progress on this, as it is looking superb thus far.
Starting to come together as work progresses.
So good to see your WIP on the forum again Malcolm, it’s progressing extremely well .
