A twenty min sketch with a view to doing a “ proper “ painting “ .  I live with hens in the fields and neighbours gardens so I see and hear them daily...I’m almost omletted out.  Plus they are a tad noisy when they have laid an egg.   This is pencil .

I like the composition Sylvia and look forward to the ‘proper’ painting too. We live next door to hens too!
Great characters Sylvia, a lovely scribbly sketch......can’t wait to see the painting. I’ve only got one hen left, it’s her birthday next week, she will be twelve!
Nice sketching Sylvia,  my daughter has hens, they follow you all around the garden all have their own personality.
Nicely captured, often these rapid sketches have more going for them than so called finished paintings. I particularly like this loose style, it exudes confidence!
Thanks everyone.  I now have a painting to do.
Keep your drawing, though!  That's worth a frame!
Painting my chucks between showers and trying to plant all my seedlings out and weed an acre of garden.  Maybe I should get some hens for myself.  These are on board and I’m enjoying getting to know them.  Still a way to go. Cluck . Eliminated the white one it just didn’t work.

Looking good Sylvia like , I  the colours .
That's looking really interesting Sylvia, not run of the mill. A different subject for you to paint,  it's very vibrant which IS your style
Thanks for comment Dixie , I am enjoying doing them.  Hi Marjorie yes different for me.  But interesting .

Loving these Sylvia! Marjorie’s already mentioned the vibrancy of the chucks, which appeals to me greatly. You’ve captured the arrogance of the little blighters perfectly.
