This is looking really good Paul, looking forward to seeing the finished painting. I agree with Robert, keep at it. I'm sure it's the pills that keep me going.
I love rusted old bangers, and yours is coming along fantastically.
I really like the fineliner work and the two contrasting colors rust and chroma green! Great Paul! I also agree with you regarding the muted palette for the background.
Thank you all for your kind comments and encouraging it very heartening.  I’m quite well myself but have a family member who is seriously ill and will need surgery soon , hence the lack of motivation as it seem painting is so unimportant  . However  I know that it quite the opposite as I have used it myself in the past and in my work to relax and escape .

Love your portrait picture as Percy.
Paul - I know you know this: but painting is important - doesn't even much matter how good or bad we are, it's creative activity, it absorbs the mind, it exercises our physicality: and it matters to those who really care about you to see that you're still DOING it.  My best wishes to your relative and to you, I know I've encouraged you before, just recently, and don't want to overdo it!  But you've done the same for me, and knowing as I do how our own personal problems, plus those of the ones we care about, can make us wonder if it really matters in the end - well, yes it does: we need to remember it does, so - get on and do what you can, but don't put added pressure on yourself: there's no crime in taking a rest.   Plus - never neglect the comfort a sustaining malt can offer.....  In the meantime, I think of you now as the master of rust - oh, and as an orang-outan .... but never mind, there's a LOT to be said for orangs.
Looking good Dixie! My favourite subject matter on several levels, as you know: it’s an old car, and it’s rusty :) the rust’s working really well, looking forward to seeing progress.

I'm also looking forward to further progress, and whenever I see the Orang Utah avatar, I also think of a "King Louie" but "King of Rust" is also perfect: here Louie in action: https://youtu.be/ud5J7Ye332I?feature=shared

Well I’ve really messed this one up good and proper, wasn’t in the mood to paint and it was thirty four degrees but decided I should do , big mistake. The paint dried so quickly it completely ruined the background and trees in the foreground , do we never learn well I clearly don’t. This is a very cropped version I wasn’t going to post it but though as it’s a work in progress it should be posted to show that it doesn’t always work out as we want .
You can’t ruin it Paul, too far in and too good. Shut it down for a few days. Start another and then another until the hunger comes back, then  wrap em up.
