I too am loving the colours, and it looks like this will look very interesting when finished. Are you going for a contrasting background to make it pop off the page?
Still working on that idea but think it will be a very subdued one.
How do you feel about dark greens...very dark? (something that makes the car lighter essentially, but still harmonises with the car colour palette)
No it’s not what I’m thinking will have a very subdued landscape in soft  colours.

Thanks for your responses, Paul. I'll look out for progress on this one. Very interesting so far.
This painting is looking great so far , you do rust so well!!
I’ve done very little for the past three weeks and I’m struggling to keep motivated, tried a little more today . It going through what I and I know others call the ugly stage where yuk seem to loose it then hopefully pull it back together.
I rather like your ugly stage, don't go tidying it up too much - you're painting a banged-up old car, after all....tell it like it is! Sorry that your motivation is low right now, I imagine health has a lot to do with that - these are the joys of older age...  but keep going at what you know you enjoy: I won't say something as daft as "it's better than pills", because without the pills we might be on our way to the crematorium, but I think we both know that it helps, once you've made yourself get your paints and brushes out: it's working up the enthusiasm to take the first step back to work that can be frustrating: I always feel better when I've got going (even if I don't know what to do with all the boards littering the flat).

Thanks Robert for your encouragement. I have done a little more today added some details with a fine liner pen and base colours for the background that will be very subdued.
You are doing a great job with this Paul. Super rust colours.
Really good progress Paul, I like the perspective on this.
Ooh very yes…
