A4 watercolour of a autumn landscape, loosely based on a local scene. Stated out with my usual base sketch and base colours the started to add the big tree on the right of the gate way .
Lovely "lead in" Can't wait to see what you do with the trees
On to the next stage , developing the trees .
I’ve started to developed the trees  on both side of the gate , building up the bank and scrub at the base of the trees .  I will add some autumn foliage later but not many leaves as I want it to be mid late autumn, will include the leafe colours in the undergrowth. Photos taken with the lamp on as it’s quite dull and becoming dark outside.
This is going to be very good Paul. That main tree is excellent
I hope so George , if I resist the urge to fiddle it has a chance of looking ok . Using thick almost neat watercolour from the tube for the heavy foliage, I will probably need to darken the trees a little but will hold of unless absolutely necessary. Finding this quite relaxing, as in doing it when I feel like rather than pushing it along.
You are doing very well. You made me smile :)
Nice work Paul and Claire, very autumnal scenes… Another older one I’ve found from my portfolio of autumn landscapes. Autumn colours , Norfolk
Nice  work Claire , it’s good to try the difference shapes and colours of foliage so much to learn from a scene like this . Thank you Alan , nice additionI I really like that loose loom that you are so good at Alan . I only had half hour to spare today manage to do a little more on the foliage, won’t have so many leaves on the middle and right side as the trees would be more exposed to wind etc, and most would have fallen.

Managed to get a little more time on this today , developing the right hand side , leaving the tree more open by putting less foliage on.
