Looking really good Linda, I like your painterly style here, the soft edges of the animal merging into the background are excellent! I much prefer this latest colour range...
Beautiful colours, I agree with Alan
Thanks Gillian, Helen, Alan and Hilary for taking the time to look and comment. Having slept on it and taking another look this morning, I have decided I am happy with the colours and how it's progressing. Not going to rush things, a little bit more definition here and there and some more work on the foreground and fingers x
Good move Linda it looks great as it is with a little more definition here and there it will look really good.
A wise decision Linda, you could quite easily undo that good work by adding detail, I’m a master at fiddling!
Really like the elephant and style of painting.  I would like to do my paintings in a similar style but always end up with realism and I do worry that if I wanted that I should just stick to photography!
Go for it Steve, I am still trying to get away from neat and tidy, I found since joining POL, my style is completely changing, being a lot more looser. I am really enjoying oils at the moment having done them in the past but nothing like my style now, which I am still finding. There is always Alan and Robert to offer advice, so don't be afraid to ask. At least with oils you can take it all off with kitchen roll and start again lol !!!
He is great, love the colours you've used Linda
Calling it finished because i'm in danger of fiddling with it now. Decided to leave the background as it is. 20 x 20ins Loxley canvas board, this was lovely to work on. Colours used, lemon yellow, yellow ochre, magenta, ultramarine, paynes grey and titanium white.
Well I have to say that I’m extremely impressed with this work Linda. You’ve achieved those wonderful painterly brush marks, and managed to keep it loose and expressive. Really well done indeed!
Absolutely stunning, you should be very proud of yourself Linda. The colours are superb and leaving the background was a great idea.
This is fabulous.  I love the colours.
