Well, after a rather long time off the brushes (since Oct 22) I finally picked them back up again this week. I have been 'painting' with and on stained glass for the past couple of months and thoroughly enjoying it. I decided to try and get this painting finished and have made some progress on it.

Brilliant, there's nothing out of place and it's so clearly a U class. Mind you Eastleigh or Ashford might have turned out a real one since October! Thanks Peter. I know what you mean about a real one being quicker to produce than this painting. I just lost impetus and the mojo towards the end of last year and stopped painting and couldn't be 'bothered'. I think the break and change of activity (working with stained glass) has done me good and I am fired up again with my painting again. Malcolm

Now nearing completion, and to boot a half decent photograph of it for a change (well the colours look more like they do on the painting at least!!!). Foreground, a bit of work near the tender, the steam above the cab, colour on the signal arms and some work on the shed front to do and I think it will be about there.

Excellent - I'm slightly maliciously pleased to hear that someone else has had trouble with photographing images, though yours have always been sharp and clear so far as I could see. It's not the sharpness Robert, it's the random variation in colour I get from one photo to the next, even those taken consecutively. Trying to get one which actually matches that of the original is quite a challenge. Drives me nuts!!!
