This time a typical scene form the days of steam. The driver doing his 'lubrication run' around his loco at the start of the day.
Drawing done, now the hard work begins.
Oh and for those interested it's a Maunsell designed U1 2-6-0 locomotive first built in 1931 and ran for 31 years before being withdrawn.

Not the best photo I'm afraid but it gives an idea of where I am up to with this painting. I have been using a light brown base coat, as seen on the smoke deflector on this side of the loco, then darkening down slowly until I get it to where I want to be, as per the deflector on the opposite side and the driving wheels.
A fair bit more work involved in this one yet.
