Good morning all! I have just entered the new website and so far so good.  The one strong criticism I have is the for sale sign.  I think it is a good idea to have this option.  However, I do not think that having a red for sale sign plastered across the actual image is good.  It makes it look tacky and cheap and it distracts and detracts from the actual work.  Perhaps the tag should be placed somewhere off the image? What are your thought on this?
Yes, I tend to agree entirely with you on this, and for all the reasons stated. Actually, the few For Sale items that I've looked at, don't have a price! Presumably that's an option, or you have to make an enquiry! Having just revisited the page, I see that you have to contact the artist if your interested in purchasing - what's wrong with simply being able to state the price?

Thanks Alan.  I am pleased it was not just me who felt this.  I don't, however, have a problem with someone having to contact you to discuss work and price.  It's much more friendly.  It encourages a dialogue.  Just as an NB, the image display seem now far superior to previously.

Fair enough Gudrun, I still prefer to have a price in front of me - somehow I might feel some kind of obligation once I had made  personal contact. It may just be me!
Still trying to find my way around!  Gudrun I agree entirely with what you’ve said. At the Nottingham Society of Artists online gallery, people contact you via them, then you can decide whether to enter into dialogue or not. Also you know where it’s come from, and your email will only show to the prospective enquiry once you answer them.  Ellen

Yet another gremlin with the new site Linda, Dawn will come to the rescue no doubt! On the other subject, if I go into the Mall Gallery or even my local galleries, there will be a price list for me to look at, what’s not to like about that?
Agree re for sale sign very off putting. Maybe if you tick the for sale box a small symbol could go in the details box with a price as I don’t think it’s an auction.
Please can you email me with any bugs or glitches and I will log them with the technicians! [email protected]
It did put me off today that big bright red for sale sign, like a big house for sale sticker lol. I'm sure the artist themself could put the price in the description?
Still not sure why we have become a selling site. Yup the big red sign is atrocious.
