The new mural is Eddie Gray, on the left, taken quite some time and has involved a lot of 'invention'. It's a pose I have long wanted to use, of him celebrating scoring the first of two brilliant goals which he is still very fond of despite it being over 50 years old. The challenges I had included capturing photos from TV footage and modifying it as much as possible to make it drawable. In the end, I really only managed his body shape and have been creative by using different images of him in close up, from the 1970s, the 1990s and just a month ago when I managed to persuade him to visit me so I could photograph him! It is nearly finished now but I'm tired of looking at it and fault-finding; I love a challenge and this has certainly been that. I start on a much easier mural soon, a head and upper body shot of John Charles, from the 1950s. I will be using two old cigarette cards, blown-up colour copies, for reference, using the grid method. I'm hoping it will be much quicker than Bremner and Gray.

'II Gigante Buono', both my dad and grandad used to talk about the great man incessantly, the best player they'd ever seen. I look forward to seeing it James. Thanks very much, Russell. There is a novel about John, called The Gigante, surrounding his move from Leeds to Juventus in 1957. He was a great man.

Hello all, it has been too long, I can't really excuse myself other than to say I have been extremely busy with a variety of projects. I am pleased to say I have finished the large 14 x 50 or so foot wall with these murals. I am extremely grateful to everyone here who has commented or taken an interest, the support and general kindness has really helped and is exactly what I'd hoped for when joining this fine forum.
