Agree with Denise - let us leave this, for Heaven's sake.  Two contributors have clashed head-on, a moderator has sought to end the controversy, in response to a complaint; and what else was he supposed to do?  I say again - you can only do your best, and none of us is paid for what we do so we just do what we can: Paul took a decision; I took a different one - who is to say which of us, if either of us, was wrong? We really do need to move on.  These are NOT easy decisions to make - do give us a break.
No I am sorry guys I am not going to leave this , I know that's the easy option.  I also understand that Paul took a brave decision off his own bat to remove the comment that is in question.    I am formally asking the moderators to consider replacing that comment .  It was an opinion and we are allowed  to make them . So if this could be reconsidered that would be good. Thank you.
Wow, So Much discussion.... I would not want anyone to leave... Especially because of any work I posted..   I like Sylvia, and she is right... Everyone has an opinion and has the right to express them... I don't know Norrette, and I don't agree with her opinion, but I do understand it... I don't want her to leave either... I really don't have anything against her...  I have no enemies, except the Republicans In the United States Congress. LOL.. I never gave any thought to children visiting the Website by the way, and looking at all the art.. Don't know why, just never did..  I promise in the future I will not post anything that could be inappropriate for kids..  I'm still going to paint beautiful Women, but I don't think they will run the risk of corrupting young minds...
In response to Lewis earlier... I use a medium size Wacom Intuos Tablet and Stylus Pen..  The One That came with it... Wacom Pen.. It's pretty good, nothing really special.. Not expensive at all.. Comes with 5 or 6 extra tips or Nibs as they are called...
Thanks for the info on the pen Eric.  Back when I was dabbling in digital I tried something similar, and couldn't get on with it.  So I used scanned drawings and the mouse.  If I were to try digital again I think I'd need one of those picture pens, where you draw on the screen...not sure I can justify the expense for the occasional digital painting.   So I'll continue to enjoy other's digital art...like yours. As for the subject of this thread, I hope nobody feels they need to leave.
Yeah Lewis those big Cintique set ups are expensive... I can't afford them... It took me two or three days to get used to the hand eye coordination of drawing on a pad and looking at a computer screen... After that though it quickly became second nature....
Sylvia I’m pleased that you have decided to stay with us on the site. I would willing replace the post I removed but it a little complicated, the post I removed was not the one posted by Norrette it was the one posted by the complainant and it contained a copy of Norrette’s comments. After I removed this one I checked back to see when the original was posted to discover that since posting Norrette has edited the original posting and removed her remarks that we’re causing the problems. If the one I removed is reinstalled it will show these remarks and that would or could be something Norrette does not want .  I also note that Eric has made a statement and this seems to me to have reached a stage where both people can continue to use the site and get on with what we all want . In conclusion I think we can only restore the copy of the original post with permission from Norrette as it still contains remarks she may have changed her mind about. I’m sorry if this doesn’t totally resolve the situation but I feel our hand are tied , and hopefully we can move on from here .
Thanks for that Paul.  Yes I understand .  So be it, I would love to see Norrette back here posting.

So would I Sylvia she will be missed .
I’ve been away for a number of weeks (to sunnier climes 🌞), so am just catching up. Regarding the original topic of this thread -  I think it would help if the categories selected when posting a picture in the gallery were automatically displayed on the final gallery post.. Plus, I think it should be compulsory to select the medium at least, when posting a picture in the gallery. I only look at the gallery as a whole (never select a particular medium or subject), so it’s then up to the artist to additionally state their medium in the info section if they want to. The (optional) selections (medium/subject/style etc) whilst creating one’s gallery artwork serve no purpose (to me) if they’re not then included in the gallery post itself.

I agree entirely with that: I think the website has a number of features which aren't necessarily working together yet - like many a website, it might be a  work in progress.  The feature does help us find works in particular categories; what annoyed Norette (among other things) was looking for Oils on the gallery, and finding work achieved by a digital 'oils' package: one of which is (I think) called Artrage Oils, so it's as confusing for the person posting the work as it is for those who look for work in particular categories.  It would help if the site were tweaked a bit, but then - tweaks cost time and money, and this site is free for users; maybe next time it has an overhaul these suggestions could be helpful - if we remember to make them at the time.

I definitely agree with this Helen. Hopefully POL will be looking in on this discussion. I haven’t taken part in this having missed the beginning, and therefore now not sure what was said and has since been removed!
