Autumn Floods.  40 x 50cm oil on board. A view from my window, with the addition of autumnal colours. This was painted as the floods from the burst banks of the River Trent had subsided, leaving large areas of flooded fields. I’ve left some foreground grasses as turpsy washes, they were saturated and reflecting the light, so I’ve tried to keep them as transparent as possible.

Just love it Alan. No autumn colours here of course but some beautiful spring ones. October has been a cold wet spring so far though!

My third and final contribution to the October challenge, and what an enjoyable one this month! 40 x 50cm oil on board. It’s a view from my studio window, painted in one short session last week.
