Very stylish Fiona.  Looking at Margaret's 39 steps, got me wondering how else you could do that.  I don't think there is a better way.  (A great book, by the way).  I suspect if this thread continues it's going to get harder and harder.  Not so much the picture making (we can all do that), but the guessing what they are. I've had another go.  Again, I think it's fairly obvious...but...(Hope it doesn't put anybody off their breakfast). Think I'll have a break from this now, I'll try again later in the month.
Here's a strange thing.  I posted this picture in the gallery a few moments ago, and Micheal Hanrahan commented on it.  He guessed the book. He wasn't the least bit abusive, but it was clear that the picture troubled him.  This is just a piece of nonsense picture, and I never imagined it would disturb anyone.   In his bio he's said he's had problems, and I've no wish to add to them in the smallest way with my stupid drawing.  I've deleted the picture from the gallery. I don't think Micheal uses the Forum, I've never seen anything from him.  So I'll leave it here for now, but if anyone is offended by it, I'll remove the post. Not a good start to the day.
Yes it's The Portrait of Dorian Gray, I don't find it disturbing as far as I can remember it was a good film.
Dorian Gray ? Lew you could make a living from designing book covers, you have an excellent imagination for this challenge. Certainly hasn’t put me off my porridge and I’m not “offended”. I’m sure the majority of people will see your painting for what it is.....a good piece of art, representing and fitting the brief of a forum challenge. You acknowledged the sensitivity by removing it from the gallery but we can all make choices......it’s simple enough to scroll past any image you don’t want to investigate further. I do it all the time! Lol.
I didn’t guess the book and haven’t seen the film, but it’s a great illustration Lewis, yes a bit scary perhaps, but nothing to get upset about.  I was most struck by its beautiful vibrant colours.  It’s a shame you felt you had to take it off the gallery, I looked for it there after initially seeing it on the forum.
Yes, I guess if you know the book or the films, this one is easy.  The Picture of Dorian Gray by Oscar Wilde.
Lew, it is regrettable that you felt it necessary to remove the posting from the gallery.  I haven't seen the comment so I am unable to judge, but if you felt it was the right thing to do, then all credit to you.  Please do not remove this post, it's not a 'stupid picture' but as you say, it's just a nonsense picture, not aimed or intended to trouble or offend any-one.  Unlike the gallery, the Forum is not thrust upon the casual browser, you have to come looking.
I think it was kind of you to remove it Lew.  It’s a super picture and i enjoyed it on here. I do know the guy you refer to and he has had a troubled past , he's a nice person.  Thank you .

Tony, I posted the picture early, he was quick to comment, and his was the only one at that point.  That's when I deleted it, apart from anything else, had I left it, other people would have read his comment.  I must stress he was not abusive in any way, but clearly pictures like mine cause him some distress.  My picture is not important. He is a nice person, Sylvia...that's why I removed it. Anyway, enough of that.  It's done and dusted.
I didn't see the image before the name had been given, Lew, but it is an excellent drawing.
That's an interesting one Dawn, It will be great to see what we all make of this!!

Great Expectations. -  Miss Haversham
I started this off a few months ago with some left over acrylic, as it progressed I could see a figure in it but just left it, then when this challenge came up I remembered it, got it out this afternoon and decided to finish it off, quite easy I suspect!! decided to post it.
