That is a great juxtaposition, Anderson. How many times have we blown the Dandelion seeds and made a wish, it's the inclusion of the numbers that give it a human and nature element that fine line between reality and dreaming. I think that is a fine piece of work that fits the bill.
A great start Carol, Alan and Linda - very clever images. I think I will sit this one out and enjoy looking at this forum (my brain doesn't do clever stuff like this) :) (it doesn't do cryptic crosswords either)

Thank you, Alan, so pleased to read that. I don't usually put images I have posted in the forum into the gallery, I'll have a think about it :) At the moment I'm looking at your work, to place a comment about it. Hope I hit the mark as we all have our own thoughts about other peoples work. I hope other will post their thoughts as this, I feel is as intriguing as the images presented. Thank you, maggyn. :)

There's plenty of time, Marjorie :) Alan, you may have just 'knocked' this one up, as you say. However, I see the juxtaposition as doubt and certainty. Both surgeon and the tree could be you. The tree a representation of strength, and the surgeon delving deep within to find that inner strength. There are times when we do indeed doubt ourselves, no matter how confident we are.
Love all of them so far. Being a nerd and having found this I suppose I will have to think of something too. From Collins dictionary variable noun The juxtaposition of two contrasting objects, images, or ideas is the fact that they are placed together or described together, so that the differences between them are emphasized.
Tessa, there's nothing difficult about Juxtaposition - contrast or difference. as long as they're not too closely related. Your colours are a contrast, although they are related because they are a pigment, but the juxtaposition here is the bird wanting to be blue instead of red. The jux, here is the bird and the colour. Look forward to seeing yours, Gudrun.

Well it's delightfully abstract so the mind is free to explore the farthest side of the galaxy. Nice place, so I hear.
I just entered this on the gallery. Hope it's the right idea....
I'm still trying to differentiate between justaposition and incongruous? No doubt it will click in time.....

At first I was completely confused by this challenge and had no idea where to start, now I have so many ideas but not necessarily the skill to get them out of my head and onto paper! There are so many great attempts on here already so I'll see what I can do at the weekend...
This is one of my idea's. I hope it fits the challenge more or less. I had a look at René Magritte's work and that is the result. One of my earlier plant drawing but with a different flower head. Hope you like it. I also posted it on the Gallery.
With no possible disrespect meant to anyone, if you imagine an image of a branch of Specsavers next door to a school for the blind, that juxtaposition as I see it. A poor example, but....
