Hello,  Struggling finding a way to achieve this brush technique.  Any thoughts on the type of brush/instrument that could produce this?  90% sure it's oil.   Many thanks

More likely traditional gesso I’d say. Spread it onto a board, and use a thin flat but sturdy (hog bristle) brush to achieve the desired effect … fairly basic Impasto technique!

I agree with Alan. You may also get similar effects with the Princeton Catalyst Silicone Wedges too. They do a range for different textures and patterns.
