If I can get a photo of it - it's either blowing a gale out here or raining, and I need to photograph out of doors - I'll respond to a challenge for once: my favourite painter is Corot, he who generally avoided painting direct sunshine (probably his fault that many of my pictures have been described as "dark") and I've just done an acrylic in homage to his style if not in great faithfulness to it. I sense your keen anticipation!
Maybe tomorrow, with a bit of luck.

I've had to put mine - after Corot: a long way after Corot - on the Gallery, because I couldn't reduce the pixel size enough to make any impression on the forum page. I think the first word of the heading is 'Dark' - I'll bung a link down below when I can get back into the Gallery. Still suffering from aged-camera-syndrome: expenditure looms - oh how I hate to spend!

Seeing how popular the discussions on inspiration from artists have been recently, I thought this month might be a good opportunity to challenge you to paint in the style of your favourite artist. look forward to seeing who you choose! This does seem like an interesting challenge. You should try the opposite in a future thread as well: namely to paint in the style of your least favorite artist, or in the style of the art movement you like the least.

Lucian, can't think of any artist or style I really dislike, I learn from all of them. Having said that, I'm not impressed by photo realism any more because I always think; why not just take a photograph? To be honest I'm too old to attempt one anyway.
Sylvia - many thanks, I saw some of Lichtenstein's stuff in Tate Modern in London. An interesting moment as it's so iconic. I believe he's on the list for a future 'inspiration' thread, so won't say more.

To be honest I'm too old to attempt one anyway.Maybe just a brief exercise, like painting a random item that is not too complex.
