Ta, Slyvia - I should have known that! And, though my short-term memory is not what it was (blame the demon drink) I shall remember that defintion; I KNEW hawthorn was also called May - but you may write me down as a silly old fool. Though - beautifully marked, and with a certain innate charm, by which you cannot hope to avoid being bewitched.

Bill for a first flower drawing that is quite impressive mate . and not a easy one to doThanks Paul. I did it from two photographs of roses and a bit of imagination. The photo doesn't look as good as it does in real life, annoyingly, but I'm pretty pleased with it, so it's worth a bit more effort to tidy it up and blend it a bit. I just wanted to get it on the forum for Mothering Sunday. I'd forgotten how much I like working with soft pastels.
