February 2021 Challenge

I wasn’t going to do another for this challenge, but when I looked at our pond this morning the ice in the corner had cracked into some lovely shapes, with ice bubbles and some frosted bits, so thought I’d have a go at an abstract of it.  It looked almost cosmic against the dark water.  Watercolour in Indigo with some white acrylic ink.

I like that Jenny.  From a corner of a frozen pond?  I can see that from your description, at first glance I thought it was an outer space painting.  Either way it's a very intriguing picture, and that's always good.

Thanks, Lewis, the cracked ice patterns in the pond caught my eye straight away - all the lines and shapes in my painting are the same as those I saw, and it really did look very cosmic, (apart from the pond netting!)  I’ve just done a cleaner version of it.  Funny how you can often find inspiration where you least expect it!

That's because you have the ability to 'see' a painting where, perhaps, others wouldn't.
