I found this whilst on a dog walk .  I stole it. I have since drawn it in graphite. Sylvia Evans on 13/12/2022 07:00:14 I can not believe it... Till now I thought I'm the only weird man who loves skulls ;) I'm mainly listening to metal music, rock etc., but also good pop, or instrumental music, but you know, the main stream is rock... I'm motorbiker too (in my mind now), as I have not bike anymore ;) Skulls, rock style etc is deeply in my blood veins  ;) I have a goat rag on the floor in my painting studio spot, and the only thing missing is the goat skull on the wall ;) I've been looking for it, but most commonly there are sheep skulls instead available. I've found nice goat skull, with great looking horns, but it was over a £100, and I could not afford it. So this is the plan for next year - to compliment my studio wall with such an interesting skull  ;) For now I have the silver made skull on my bolo tie ;) I love your idea Carol with your rat skull, I never knew it can be painted to customise it... I'm interested to see your final effect!  Sylvia - what a finding! This skull looks great, and I wouldn't be any different when facing it on the field - I'd take it home too! (saving money, lol) :)

As we are talking skulls I have a part red deer skull complete with a set of antlers in my garage , not allowed it in the house.  I had three set of antlers but use them to make walking stick a few years ago . I will look it out and add the photo .

A walking stick Paul? Wow! I never would thought of using antlers to make it. I'm fan of extraordinary walking sticks, lol... I'm dreaming to get such a stick, lol ;) I have an elderly passenger that's boarding on my bus sometimes, and he's always carry some interesting stick with him! Different designes, etc. Obviously he got my attention, and I had a chance to ask him (he's a regular passenger) how come he's got multiple interesting sticks? He used to make them! Yes, I did ask him that I'm more than happy to buy one if I can, and he did promise to have a look for me, but time is passing by, and he didn't get back to his promise ever since. I saw some YouTube videos of somebody who's carving amazing sticks in the wood... I'm fancy to have one for sure ;) Can't wait for your pictures Paul  ;)

The graphite skull is my find and the coloured one is the one I did with Keith Bowen.
Well done Sylvia, great exercise to draw the skull, as it has lots of different curves, so shading and following details need lots of attention  ;)
I suppose this is seasonal.  I'd have to go back many, many years to find it at any Christmas party I attended.  This bloke is an optimist, and he'll need to be very, very patient.
He will have to be very patient Lew ,I would cut that mistletoe down.
There are lots of wonderful paintings on here, congratulations to all.  Mine is not a recent one but it looks wintry enough ... the steam is from fumaroles (volcanic gases) Bison at Yellowstone park, acrylic on canvas
We have to be optimistic, Lew. A lovely seasonal painting. Cordelia, very nice, I like the silhouette of the bison.
I think we're all a little weird on here, Pog :) Nice to see your sketch and painting, Sylvia. Dynamic colours. It's definitely a rat scull, Alan. I would have loved to have seen your collection. This is what I've done so far. It will be decorated, I'm working out a pattern, small brushes at the ready. I've used metallic gold watercolour, and a mix of yellow and blue.
I will be so interested in how this evolves.

Thank you, Sylvia. The skull is a quarter of the picture size, I too will be interested to see how this ends up. Pity the bottom half wasn't there, I did look. I've found a few old things when repairing the walls, this was a wow find, for me. Don't think I'll find another.
