More experimenting with pastel pencils!
Nice aircraft sketch Denise , like your pastel sketch Gillian. A pencil sketch from me in theme with the farm and countryside sketches in doing at the moment. Sketch a few days ago and forgot about it.
Cracking tractor Dixie, I have sketched a few and always find it’s a challenge to get the tyres looking right especially those big back ones! Again I’ve missed a few days, portaloos, planes and ballet dancers, what could be more different. Shows there’s inspiration everywhere, we just have to look and see. I was fiddling with pencils this morning. The snow has largely disappeared here for the moment. Our suggestion for art group today is to paint or draw something snowy. I did this pencil sketch from imagination but think it could be looked at as a snow scene!
The detail in the tractor is brilliant Paul.  Tessa your way of sketching in so good, I love these effects, is this continuous line sketching? Gillian, you have inspired me to break out the pastels this morning.
Hi Gillian, thank you. I hadn’t really thought of it as continuous line sketching but I suppose it is partly, if that makes sense!  I had just been walking around country roads near home and looking at the trees which are covered in ivy etc and thinking that there are no straight lines and trying to catch that effect. I’m not sure if I could paint this way, but might give it a try. Your pastel flowers are lovely, very delicate.

Many thanks Margaret & Gillian, I must admit that trying to do a sketch a day does concentrate the mind. Here is my bash for the day.
Another lovely range of sketches.  Started this wee one last night and finished it today - A5.  From one of my very old (print) photos.
You were quick to finish the planes painting Denise.  Well done and good result. Hilary your flowers are lovely. Tessa I love your squiggly trees. Stephen , you have been very industrious and imaginative.  Lovely fresh colours. Margaret you are quick too   Just the view we all want.

Another dog’s eye from me today. Some great variety of subjects, can’t keep up with it!
I came across this I did last week and thought I add it . A4 watercolour sketch off a barn owl, I’m alway surprised how long the can stand on one leg they just seem to freeze and at an odd angle sometimes.
Wow, what buzzy bees you have been. Not been around much lately, been so busy at work this last few weeks, not been in the mood to sketch or post, But I was reminded today that the Celtic spring spring is about to start, it's the time of year when we can start to see the world quickening. Days start to get longer, snowdrops appear, ( I know with global warming they have been and gone in some places) . so here is a little sketch I have done for a friend of mine.
Very nice Alan and interesting information. The basic drawing for a painting in working on at the moment, this was the second stage of the drawing where I added the crane jibs etc . I then use a putty rubber rolled over the new are to fade the pencil marks.
