I have picked up one of the other painting I had put aside, have the spring in mind so inevitable I chose this one to get on with as my main painting, the other is one I shall be using as my relaxing time using up leftover paint. The also ran painting again spring as the theme.
Paul if you manage to paint all those sheep it will be brilliant. !!  Both paintings are looking promising, you are working well.
Yes, both do look promising, also I hope you pick up the boat painting as well. Worth seeing if you can come to some arrangement with your neighbour re the summerhouse? I tend to paint in small bursts when I actually am painting. Working on one at present, got bored with what I'd intended to do as it wasn't working, and am overpainting it into something quite different. Good thing I work in acrylics and not watercolour!
The one with the sheep going in is a great composition Paul.
George, Sandra and John many thanks for your supportive comments . It’s the sheep that’s my main worry George, I built the scene up with several references photos for the buildings etc John , the sheep were an afterthought as it needed some thing to bring it to life. I know that me neighbour wouldn’t be open to anyone else using his summer house Sandra, it’s would be  big of a drag walking to his place wet days etc .  I managed to get quite a bit done this afternoon, concentrated on the tree and the buildings , boxed in around the sheep , I was awake in the night and suddenly thought I would box in the sheep . I won’t do then white more of a dirty off white as that how they would look after a winter and before being shorn and getting a freak fleece .

Don't worry about the sheep - you'll start getting tentative: and is there anything worse than a tentative sheep....?  You've got the drawing right, so the painting should be a doddle (I know: it never is, is it?).  Baa-aa..
Well I certainly hope your right Robert . I haven’t done much on this today was distracted by another painting that unfortunately didn’t get far before it fell into the bing , with a slight shove I must admit, I darken around the sheep a bit and add some colour to the shepherds cloths . I also did a bit on the bluebell piece.
Paul - if it were me (and of course - it isn't!) I'd just lay a raw sienna wash over your sheep and not fuss with them, other than adding a shadow where appropriate.   You don't want to exaggerate their importance, but at the same time, they ARE important.
Thanks  Robert , I certainly won’t be doing anything that highlights then as they are part of the scene not the feature of the painting . I had been thinking about a simple wash over then Raw Siena is one of the colours I use regularly workdays fit in nicely with the background etc.  It alway helps when someone suggests way of achieving something, even if it’s very different to your own thinking, however we were on the same page with this one, on of the benefit ps of the forum.
Can’t think of anything else to add , but will leave it till tomorrow and look again I’m at risk of fiddling with it if I continue with it today . .

This is pretty darn good Paul, a very acceptable piece of work! I’m never overly keen on parts of people cutting into the base if I’m honest, but that’s just me…
Just to add- your trees are exceptionally good on all your work!
