I decided to tidy the area where I paint , well the corner of the small bedroom I use in the winter to paint, it’s isn’t partially messy I just had quite a few paintings sitting around. On another note I had a neighbour call in the other day  he recently move around the corner to a small place , he keen on sketching and want to paint so he has a very extensive summer house built , electric, heating,   the lot  , hasn’t used in it twelve months since he moved in . Oooh I could sure use that and just about live in there . Back on track , as I was tidying up I realised I had five paintings on the go , not unusual for me , unfortunately I can’t concentrate or focus on thing for more than about twenty minutes.  I’ve always had to make myself focus and concentrate, but I think with retirement etc it’s not such an issue, I can’t sit for for due to a spinal injury and need to move almost constantly so this  adds to the problem . I discovered that if I have a couple or three pieces to work on at a time I can flip between them as I start to loose concentration on the one I’m working on , with a short break between, it work well most of the time , occasionally I just end up fiddling with a painting and decide enough is enough , bin it or just use it to get rid of the fiddling urge . Out the work I’ve started I will carry on with most but I have already ditch a couple.  This one I liked but change the small lean to barn several time and I think ruined it, so it became a fiddling painting , would not normally post it . This one I like the look of the photo with the breadman and old lady at the cottage door , I don’t like the colour of  the buildings on the left or the shapes , don’t think I will proceed with it , just hold on for a while. I love the boat in this but I think I need to sort out the background, not sure as yet another wait and see. This one I was not happy with as I didn’t like the trees on the left middle distance, but did a bit of work on it this morning and think it’s redeemable . The next two I started this morning and I’m fine with how they are going so far particularly the last one . I know it’s a long winded post , I find it interesting how other people work and progress through a painting , some I know do it in one sitting, other in a couple of stages, I can  take  seven it more sessions to complete a small piece.
I couldn't work like that Paul, once I begin a picture I have to finish it before I begin the next. I can see the attraction though, as you say. They have all got potential but I especially like the harbour scene and sheep, you should certainly finish those. I find this time of year frustrating because I don't like painting in artificial light - today it has barely got light all day. In the summer I'll happily keep painting well into the evening.

It looks like a very promising batch of work to me.  I particularly like the last two and the one with the boat in the foreground.  I can only admire your energy and drive, especially in your circumstances.  Art wise we’re all our own taskmasters and critics, so it’s what you think that counts. Generally I like to finish whatever I’m working on, sometimes I’ll have a little 6 x 4 pic on the go as well.  I don’t like to take too long over a picture, or I lose interest in it.  I’ve spent two days thus far on the acrylic I’m working on (not ALL day of course, I mean the time I can spare each day), already my interest is sagging.  I’ve got no real excuse for this, it’s how I’ve always been.  That said, knowing I’ve done SOMETHING each day makes me feel better. Be nice to see some of those finished.
Thank Lew and Peter , I work like this out of necessity either do it this way or get nothing done. It get frustrating at time when other things stop me from painting and I can’t pick up on it again. I have concentrated on this one today had about five short sessions on it . The others I will complete over the next week or so .
Keep posting the updates, it's always interesting to see how other people work.
They are all looking good Paul. I'm biting at the chomp to get things started once the dreaded flu symptoms have finally dissipated.
Mondays and Tuesdays are busy time and I rarely get the opportunity to paint but I did get half an hour around midday to do a little bit more work on this one . Not a great deal more to do now hopefully I will get it finished before the end of the week.
I managed to a little more time this morning to a bit more , not a lot needed to finish it of but that won’t happen today . I like how the paint has mixed on the right side dry wall, as I rushed it before having to go out I worked a bit to wet , however the results look good, will do a few stone in detail but mainly leave it alone.
It's going to be a good one Paul.
Thanks George . I unexpectedly found time this afternoon to do some more work on this one , think it’s finished but I will look again in the morning and take better photos before posting on the gallery. This was taken under my work lamp and is wet in some places.
Looking very good indeed.
Thanks Sandra it now on the Gallery.
