I posted a painting this morning on the gallery and as usual use the original photo, the I started playing around with the  preset options of changing the image colours. Vivid , cool vivid , vibrant etc something I’ve not use to change any of my work and probably won’t ever use it. But it does offer the opportunity to see what your work looks like and enable you to make changes in how you paint it . Thought I would share some of the views and ask if anyone every uses them , first up is the original, like to know yiur views on how the others look .
I like the third one down.  It's cooler.
I think your original is best.
I agree, you chose your palate well with the original.
Yep! Definitely the first image for me also! I don’t personally think this method of looking or playing around with alternative options in this way, has much benefit - I would rather assess the colours, warm/cool etc by eye! But, if some artists find it a helpful aid, then I suppose why not!
My preference is also for the first one Paul.
I much  prefer my original one, and personally I like to paint using my choice of colour etc , surely that’s what it’s about . I can’t see what I would gain from creating an image then altering it to look different that I had originally painted, it takes the fun out of the whole process of creating in the first place .  I made the changes after posting on the gallery just curiosity and then wondering if it’s actually use by fellow artists. After the comments I’ve had and on here I certainly will be sticking to the original methods.
I prefer the original too, but I have to admit that I have started to use my iPad to create quick colour studies in Procreate before working on my final paintings. A really quick way to try out different combinations and discover any issues I might have in the composition before moving on to canvas.
Original is always best but I agree with Gary, could be useful for a quick colour study when checking your work.
I do use it to check contrast as I’m going along , like all these things the edit function has its uses so not to be dismissed as something useless.
