There was a thread some time ago about studio spaces but I can't find it. In May I moved to a new studio space (I was able to make the move on my own without requiring any contact from anyone else). The old space was an old farm building, only roughly refashioned for human usage, but it was big; I had lots of space. The new studio is also an old farm building, but properly 'repurposed' as artists' studios. It's less than half the size, but it's so much more pleasant to work in although I still have to work by artificial light. It's in a very pleasant location too so I'm really glad I made the move.
The new space looks much brighter (even with artificial light).  I occupy the spare bedroom upstairs, which I share with several non-art cupboards and a wardrobe!

Looks very impressive, room to spread. I have to share the kitchen table. It has one benefit, you can eat my paintings!
It does look good John. Mine is in the same category as Helen’s!
The new space looks great and inspiring. My painting is usually done in my kitchen; I'm ashamed to say .
Don’t be ashamed of using the kitchen Marline, we all started somewhere.I was promoted to he spare room earlier this year, hasn’t made me paint any better.
It’s part of a place called Calf House Studios and the name indicates the previous purpose. On certain days (not sure why it’s only certain days) when I open the door there’s still a faint whiff of animals. Either I get used to it or the open door ventilates it out.
Looks like you'll have to keep the door open then, John. 😊
I suppose you're right Paul, it doesn't really matter where you paint. It would be nice though to have a space
I’ve got a decent size studio, but like Paul said, it doesn’t make you paint any better than sitting at a kitchen table. I have the ability to paint badly wherever I’m at!
Likewise Alan, I have a converted dairy attached to our old farmhouse with plenty of room to make as terrible a painting as I can, and do regularly!
You terrible painters ( Alan and Peter ), have such good taste 😊.
