Fantastic sketches everyone, Tessa well done in getting two done, Fiona you are definitely not alone in collecting things and interesting reading about oilbar will have to read the rest of  the discussion now  😊 Day10 entry reference Pixabay
Another lovely watercolour, Anjana, and really like your bird and bones sketch, Fiona.    Tessa, glad you enjoyed the BP exhibition, must try go and see it soon.   You are lucky you are home now, the weather was blowing a hooly in Edinburgh last night, and still is!     Fiona, have you ever seen the Turner exhibition?   If you have, it is wonderful, isn't it?  I've been lucky enough to see it a few times.   Now, wonder what everybody will do for Day 11!  I certainly won't be drawing outside today as I might blow away!
So much good stuff posted, today’s is a tomato painting o my iPad using a free oil painting app. Never tried painting digitally before it was quite good

Daffs nearly ready to burst through! Drawn yesterday when I was out, finished with watercolour today.
Anjanna that’s a fabulous sketch!  Margaret, no I haven’t seen it yet, I meant to last year but for some reason missed it. I’ve got what, two weeks to get up to Edinburgh before it finishes? It’s blowing a hooly here too, nothing to stop the south/westerly coming straight off the sea! Well done Paul! Looks good too. Blimey Tessa, daffs ready to flower? They are only about an inch out the soil here! Great sketch, I like the addition of watercolour. I will also be sketching indoors today, unless it’s an ‘out the window’ job.....if I can see anything through the rain on the windows.
I picked up this lovely big cone the yesterday and am trying to sketch it before it opens any more! Finding it very difficult. If anyone is short of inspiration feel free to use this and suffer with me!
Not very happy with this and might have another go with pen or paint later, but here it is for today.
Looks ok to me, but I do think you have chosen a very difficult thing to draw or paint I’ve had problems with trying this in the past.
Tessa, your watercolour looks very good to me!  I took you up on the opportunity to draw your pine cone as well - here is my fountain pen version - I found it tricky too and I've made it too short and a bit out of proportion. Love your daffs, Tessa - no sign of them up here yet as far as I can see - even the snowdrops in our garden are showing less than an inch of leaf poking up from the soil.     Fiona, the Turner exhibition is on until 31 January https://www.nationalgalleries.org/exhibition/turner-january - well worth a look, as it is rather magical.  I usually go soon after it opens in the morning so as to get the best look at the paintings before it gets busy. Well done Paul on your first digital post :)

Tessa, thank you for putting up your pine cone photo for us to have a go at.  In exchange, here is a teasel photo for anybody to have a go at, plus my (very quick) attempt at it in fountain pen.

Lovely work ladies, both look fab in pen. Neither are easy subjects, I’ve tried cones before Tessa, difficult. Now, I’m not showing off but I’ve had time to do two sketches today.....both easy and both quickies. In pen with a slight water wash. The garlic sketch is on a watercolour sketch that didn’t turn out well and not one for waste.....I’ve drawn it on the sketch.
Thanks Margaret, great cone and I will have a go at the teasel! Do you use a normal fountain pen? I’ve seen the Fude pens advertised and thought I might try one. You seem to get a lovely result with yours. Fiona, the skull is really well drawn, and the garlic. I wouldn’t bin anything! If you look back through this thread from the beginning I think we’ve covered an amazing selection of subject matter, and not even half way through the month! X
