I sketched or painted every day in January in 2019 and was joined here on PoL by Annick Whitcombe - that was great, easier to keep going when somebody else is doing it too!  It would be great if one or more people fancied joining in - doesn't have to be something that took hours, can just be a quick sketch.  Last year Annick and myself posted daily on the gallery but I thought this year I would start a thread so as not to hog the Gallery too much - putting the occasional one on the Gallery but not many. I struggled to do the first one today (after a few weeks of not doing much) and my attempts to sketch some pigeons out of the window were fairly disastrous!  This is a quick fountain pen still life of some of my stuff in the kitchen. Coincidentally, if anybody is on Twitter, have found out that there is a #sketchjanuary hashtag for people posting sketches this month.

That's a really great sketch and idea Margaret, but I wouldn't like to commit, there are days when I just don't have time for even a quick sketch but best wishes for the New Year. 😀
Thank you Linda.  I usually find the first few days hard as there is so much going on at this time of the year but you are welcome to join in for even just a few days :)

Thanks Margaret I might just do that, I know quick sketches really help to give you more confidence with drawing skills !!
Good idea Margaret. I will try to keep up with you!

I don't think I'm going to be able to do it from January - just too much to do on quite incredibly boring but necessary political matters. But I do need something to get me working on art again  - so - will February do?
PS - nice slice of cake, there, Tessa......  very partial to a crust of icing on fruit cake.   Hoping the dentist won't notice this tomorrow morning, when I start of the new year with an examination of the elderly fangs.
Ah Robert, I can see you appreciate a slice of cake! You’ve reminded me that I have a dental appointment next week. Not good timing!
Just done a 40min sketch with charcoal pencils - first time with them, Lyra, not intense enough. Will use pen or pencil tomorrow.
I do like what you’ve produced here Marjorie. What have you used for the white highlights?
Superbly done Marjorie, might give it a go between the decorators running around the house for next two week, should have finished two weeks ago. Like the idea of doing a sketch each day must test out the old grey matter.
