Ridiculous . It’s the state we are in in general. Put it back please
Is it staying?
Thank you
Moderating the gallery would be a good thing, but with a button. I'm not too sure about that. There's many that might abuse this and press the button all over the place just for the heck of it.

I don't think I do know you Martin, other than from on here, but thank you for your kind words.
If a button was fitted to the gallery all it would do is alert Dawn that there was a complaint the person pressing the button would not be able to remove the painting. At present only Dawn can remove work from the gallery, the advantage would be that she would not have to trawl the gallery to find it , she then would make the decision. I agree  Carol it would be open to people removing a painting if the wanted to simply because they felt upset by it or even worse because they didn’t like it .
I'm sure a solution will be agree upon, Dixie, to give the best support to both the moderators and Dawn without becoming irksome. Also to keep us happy and safe.
It will be sort out eventually but it would be nice of some people though more about what they post in the first place particularly more now with the site been accessible to a younger audience. It might sound old fashioned to some folk but we do all have a duty to protect those that need  us to , until they are old enough to do so themselves. Now that could open up a bag of worms and become a huge discussion, I can hear a couple of people I know not on this site I hasten to add Not My Job , let their parents do it.
Paul, not everyone is considerate……
I'm sure it will be sorted, Dixie. We all have differing opinions, so let's not open another bag of worms. It might be interesting, though :) At the end of the day its all about respect and having to live within flexible boundaries, but not too flexible when in a site such as this. 'not my job, let the parents do it' not having been a parent, I don't envy them in todays internet era. However, it must be a comfort for a family to share a site where, hopefully, decency prevails. Keep up the good work, Dixie and P.O.L It's appreciated.

This is a difficult topic - although for those of us who regularly go to life classes and post our life drawings in the Gallery, the boundaries as to what is considered tasteful or not are blurred.  On one hand, I've seen a couple of gallery posts in the last 6 months that have offended me - but if we are all now going to report taste breaches to an Admin, I'd be worried about posting any of my life drawings.   As a Churchwarden and a person of faith, I would die a thousand deaths if anyone took down anything I'd posted and I'd be upset if anyone felt the need to have a "quiet word" with me.   For this reason, I never exhibit my life drawings in a church setting - which precludes my two regular shows at Ludlow Art Society at St Laurence's Church in Ludlow and my h.Art venue at St Michaels in Tenbury Wells.   The LAS exhibition rules state that "tasteful nudes that comply with the Church's policy" are acceptable; but because no-one knows exactly what the policy is - and because most of the clergy at St Laurence's are personal friends, I'm sure their interpretation of "tasteful" will be stricter to the one applied by the LAS Committee.   I'm not sure what the answer is, and I appreciate how difficult this whole issue will be for Dawn, Dixie and everyone else who looks after the POL gallery and forums.

Bobbie there is no issue about posting life drawing painting etc , it becomes an issue only  when the artwork is very explicit or is sexualised. There is no reason why any nude artwork should not be posted common sense usually tell us what is just that bit to explicit and if in doubt don’t post it .
