Most members who have been here a while post only one pic at a go ( occasionally two ). I think this is enough, it’s considerate…you don’t want to flood the site. But newer members maybe don’t realise this and post 4 at a go. I know this has been discussed many times but I wonder if 4 at any one time is too many. And as an “onlooker”, I don’t have the time or inclination to comment on all four, even if they are all worthy of a comment. Would it be worth POL reconsidering the “ rules”?

The other issue with someone multi posting is that it pushes work over several pages and there is the risk of missing something of interest . I do hope that those that are multi posting don’t see this as a attack , its a suggestion so that we are able to give yours and others peoples work the opportunity and time to be seen , an comments made appropriately. I think it’s one of the perennial issues that pop up like you have suggested Marjorie, because people who are new to the site are not aware of the problem and the knock on effect . I have to admit to being guilty occasionally and put two on .

I only ever post one at a time, for me personally I consider that’s adequate if you are genuinely looking for comment or critique if you ask for it, good or bad…
I’ve given up asking for change to the 4-a-day rule, I’ve tried my best on numerous occasions to get it changed to two a day max, but it’s not going to happen anytime soon in my opinion!

I usually post one, sometimes two if I've not posted for a couple of days, sometimes I will paint a lot in one day starting at 9 and finishing at 9 but I wouldn't post all of them as I feel it would be too much. I'm always looking for critique and reassurance when I post. It can be difficult commenting on four together I feel.

I can only stand back and admire people's productivity in as much that they have multiples to post at any one time. I'm one every couple of months if I'm lucky! But I do agree that it should be limited to 2 as although I comment on those I like and/or to give encouragement it is tough when it's multiple postings to give more considered feedback. Plus, you miss good things so easily when there's too many pages to view at any one time.

I have noticed sometimes that 2 or more are posted on a weekend thinking that they will get more attention as people have more time & likely to view.
We all think our paintings are worthy for posting but multiple posts are wasted & depends solely on the subject matter . I think it should be 2 a week to slow the system. Finally , May I just say Heather that you are not posting enough as all your portraits are always well received.

I agree, the gallery fills up so quickly that it is easy to miss or lose a real gem. When I first started posting I was tempted, like many, to upload my entire portfolio, but instead of mass postings (in the pre 4 a day era) I limited myself to one a day. I think that worked well, as when people today do 4 a day for several days on end, I just lose interest and get bored. I see nothing wrong with a 1 a day limit. If you have the enthusiasm/skill to complete more than 7 in a week, you can always be selective, you don't have to post the lot.
