Not a bad effortGillian, but you have made it hard on yourself, by working so small. My life drawing sketches are all on A3, while rest of the class tend to work bigger. It is a lot easier to work bigger, then you can use your arm instead of your wrist to make the big sweeping lines of the limbs and spine.

Thanks for the advice about size Linda, I thought that after I did them! Going small is a trait of my Parkinson’s! That’s not to say I can’t go bigger, it just seems to be my default setting! I will put your valuable advice into action! I was using a recording of a life drawing pose cam for models so no problem to have a shot at going bigger!

A basic sketch that I’m going to develop, not sure how to progress , watercolour wash, graphite or water soluble pencil not coloured. I’m heading towards the graphite or soluble pencil, it will then be a tonal sketch which is something I really like to see and sometimes do. Have this itch to paint and draw horses at the moment, odd as I’ve never though much about it till recently, must be my age.

Linda I think your gannet is perfect , the colours of the background cliffs is great I would be delighted with. Paul I am enjoying your recent interest in horses. They can be quite tricky to capture on paper ( or at least I find them so!). Well done! I have my sister here at the moment so not been able to get. Any sketching or painting done. Hopefully I will manage something shortly!
