Very atmospheric Dixie
Thank you Gillian. I’m not a aviation artist, and it alway amazes me how artists can get aircraft to look so elegant. I’m not going for elegance but, I have wanted to do a painting of Hawker Hurricanes, for a long time, I found this IWM photograph and decided to give it a go. Here is my basic sketch that I will rub out till it’s faint. Not sure if I should do it as WIP, and accept hints ,tips etc, have to think about this.
Good work here Dixie, not sure I would attempt one plane let alone all these! I headed into the village this morning for my walk, rather than away from it, as I gave the dog a rest day. Sat next to this cyclist (next bench) who was taking a break on her ride.
Very nice sketch Tessa, your lucky having such a nice village to go into. I bet it’s too hot this afternoon for the dog to have a walk. I thought that if I was doing the one aircraft, I might as well do the lot.
Thanks Dixie. I walked to Lower Slaughter again today, sat for half an hour in the churchyard under a nice shady tree and sketched the spire. I was a bit too close for the whole church, maybe from a different angle sometime, but needed shade!
Quick painting in garden, straight down with the watercolour, drying really quick, finished with uni pen, Crofters cottage, A4 size

I will try again. Great subject and colours Linda. Must be the heat !!!
The Hawker Hunters are looking good Paul, Tessa you live in a lovely part of England, I can see that making a lovely painting, its been quite windy here this afternoon so much so we had to put the sun shade down. Richard you seem to be having a few problems lol !!!
That’s a lovely sketch of the church Tessa, and a great painting Linda it’s been so hot it difficult to paint as it’s drying so quick. I have not sketched today a I have had quite a few jobs to do. Managed 20 minutes on this before 9 o’clock.  Wanted  test colours as I want the aircraft to look dirty and hard worn.
No offerings for a few days from me but I have been keeping an eye on the thread.  Love the crofter’s cottage  Linda, reminds me of my home turf in Orkney! Like the sketch Tessa find church yards and churches interesting subjects.
