Sorry not been around for a few days life been bit busy with work and trying to stay safe got my email from the sketch club this morning an the brief was to follow a tutorial on YouTube on how to do portraits and then have a go yourself. There's been a lot of good sketches been done over the last few days. Here's mine for today
I sat in the garden for a while this afternoon and sketched the back of the house. Various pencils.
Some more super sketches, everybody.   Christopher that is a really good portrait, and a lovely garden sketch Tessa.  Hope you can keep safe on your rounds, Alan.    I have mostly been doing Dawn's daily Photo Challenge so won't post them again here but here are a couple I did today - the lorry is a very quick sketch out of the window this morning when a neighbour was getting a skip delivered.   I finally got the flowers done late this afternoon - have been sitting enjoying them for a few days but hadn't got round to painting/drawing them - suspect it is the last I will have for a while.

Hi Friends, Some lovely works again today and all this week so far, Tessa loves the back of your beautiful house.  It must take you an age to clean.  And to answer your reply, I sadly do not stay in the country.  It was my dream to do that but we make plans and God has other plans for us.  I live in the hustle and bustle of a city sadly. Margaret I like the color of your flowers brings hope and a cute sketch of a truck. Super portrait.
Great portrait Christopher, like your house Tessa and your flowers are very cheerful Margaret like the truck . Today’s is of a timber tractor that belongs to a local chap , who takes it to shows etc, he does do forestry work as well.
Dixie, I thought for a second ‘a timber tractor’ ? Then realised what you meant! Maybe my brain is shrinking with not going out...good drawing. There will be shows cancelled no doubt. Our nearest big one is Moreton in September so hopefully we will be back to normal by then, who knows? This is a sketch from an idea in a book I’m reading  of a chap drawing on a spiral staircase.
I sketched the wild dog, gave him color. Cut him out and pasted him into a dark background.  There are only small packs of these wild dogs in South Africa.  So when people get the opportunity to see them, they race along with their cameramen to enjoy the view.  So if you get fed up of been stuck inside, go and watch Wild Earth, on YouTube, it is live twice a day.  If I am allowed to post a link, let me know.  Besides enjoying the wildlife, you can be inspired to paint or draw as well.
Nice sketch Tessa, very colourful Sandi, small quick sketch today have a lot todo. Take care folks.
Good sketch and movement Dixie! Have a good day.
That’s a very imaginative use of colour and design Sandi. I saw this cyclist taking a break this morning and was able to sit behind him and sketch.
Well nearly at the end of the month again, and the clocks go forward tonight. Nice sketch Tessa, I have decided to use the time locked away to practice drawing people , particularly faces. I find portraits very difficult and I admit I am a bit fearful of doing them, decided to start with hands. It’s amazing how we take them for granted until they don’t work as well as the used too.
just a little reminder from me for today.
