Here’s looking at you Gillian! Nice one.
Today I’ve tried out my new pens, it’s a lot different than drawing with pencil , here is two of the a5 sketch’s  attempted.
Like them Dixie. I imagine you have to just go for it  with the pens and markers etc.. I have been looking at buying some good quality ones.
Looks like you’re getting the hang of your pens Dixie! I took the dog out early this morning as it’s already pretty hot here. Sat by the river and did a sketch on the way back, then did some watercolour on it when I got home, so I’ll show both stages.
Like the idea of showing the sketch  then with colours Tessa. Whilst I am enjoying experimenting with pens I don’t think I will be using them a lot, as I prefer pencils and graphite sticks. It probably because I’ve used them for years , I like some of the effect I have done , and do admire pen work done but others, but it’s not for me. I would suggest you get some and try them out Gillian, I will use them mostly for pen and wash. Here is another of my attempts, a steam tug boat.
Just a wee experimental life sketch!
It’s always good to try something different Gillian. I’ve decided to take some of my pencil sketches and do a watercolour of them. They won’t be complicated painting just simple ones that don’t take a lot of effort, but keep me occupied and looking at how different they are. This is the  second stage, when I have done the basic pencil sketch, I have recently started to put in some shadow , I like the effect as it seems to lift the sketch and give a bit of depth.
A quick watercolour sketch of the evening sky and swifts speeding around.
Lovely sketches Dixie, Tessa and Gillian - like that pen work Dixie - always great to have new stuff to try out.   Not being doing an awful lot of sketching - some painting and lots of non-art stuff.  been carrying on doing small skyscapes when sky inspires
Two sky painting, what a coincidence. I have not done any artwork today, the heat has the better of me , so I’m posting this I did some time ago. Imaginary winter landscape.
Quick sketch of crew sorting out the morning lines of a Sunderland flying boat. Soluble pencil and a tiny bit of watercolour.
You’ve been busy Dixie. This is an ultra quick sketch while watching the golf this afternoon.
