This is a sketch I did yesterday titled Rosemary with Mint in glass jar. It took me about an hour as haven't attempted a botanical drawing for ages. We are experiencing tropical storms over here, so drawing is restful!  Ash 🌌

This is Pippin a knitted guinea pig I sketched today as wanted to try out soft edges. I drew him in 2b pencil and added some dark line in charcoal pencil. I needed to erase some line around his body frame to see if I could create fluff ...then in teeny tiny circular rounds I needed to darken the background ..it certainly was a challenge! However, am happy with Pippin as the wooly texture appears soft and fluffy. My grandaughter use to keep guinea pigs and one day Pippin went missing. I prayed that he would be rescued and the following day some neighbours noticed him scampering on their nature strip! My grandaughter was so amazed and she said 'Nanna, your prayers were answered' I knitted this soft toy in remembrance of Pippin and he has become a kind of reminder that creatures both large and small are very much sacred! Maybe I should write a children's story about Pippin? Who knows? 😊
A sweet story Angela and a lovely fluffy Pippin.   Yes all are animals are special though I can do without rats and cockroaches.   Go write a book about Pippin... I did about my dog Sam... sorry he wrote it I just drew the pictures.
A nice story Angela and good sketching.

These old cottages do hold charm and a nice drawing of the chimney stack and stone built walls Gillian!
been some good sketches on here folks. for Christmas I received a Derwent tinted charcoal pan set,  mmmm what do you do with these I thought to myself, here is 1 of 3 pictures I have come up with so far. It is of  the Llangollen aqua duct.
That’s a great result Alan. I’ve had a set for a year or two, tried once and wasn’t impressed. I should have persisted!
Terrific sketch Alan.
