Lovely sketches Sylvia and Gillian. I spent a hour putting my painting area back now that Christmas guests have gone, these sketches fell out of a book I was moving. I normally keep them in a folder , very surprised to find them I’m sure I have posted them at some point a few years back.
Nice work, Sylvia and Gillian. Dixie, those hands are very good. Your old car is interesting to look at, and even more so the lantern oil can. A vintage collectable, I hope you still have it.
Thank you Carole, unfortunately I never had the oil can would love to have both the car and the can . The hand sketch is one I did of my left hand that unfortunately will not open up . I was asked they the therapist at the hand clink for a copy to have framed in the clinic at Stoke Manderville Hospital.
I'm not a car person...mines blue and old.  But I do like those hand sketches, and yes a good venue for a print of them. Bill was in the RJ&AH hospital which is the northern equivalent to Stoke Mandeville Hosp.  It's on the Welsh /English border  and I had thought of donating a pic to hang on their corridors or waiting rooms, it's a special place. Your hands would be good. Thanks for the thought.
Your welcome Sylvia , I did do some painting workshops with the spinal unit at Stoke M I was conscious of the need to pay back as I was a spinal patient but in a military hospital. It was great fun and I met some wonderful people.
I seem to be getting a bit more settled and finding time to sketch again. I started this but it's just too dark and I can't see. I've decided to put it away and finish it tomorrow. It's from one of my own photos.

Paul  (Dixie) Dean on 28/12/2022 13:22:09 I'm sure that hand has been and still is admired, Dixie.
That’s looking really good Denise. I spent a pleasant hour last evening sketching, about  fifteen minutes on each . Decided I need to do more sketching as I’ve become quite lazy and don’t sketch so regularly as I used too.
That bird is looking great Denise, glad to see you back on POL! Really like your sketches Paul it’s great that you can produce a sketch in 15 minutes. I will have a go at setting a timer for sketching good practice for sketching out and about! I have been working on a tinted charcoal sketch of my girls.
sketching always good, Paul - like your boat: they're difficult to get right (confession: I have failed now and then!).  Gillian - good impression of your girls - maybe sharpen that charcoal stick/pencil a bit?  But it's a delicate drawing, well suiting its subject.
PS - Denise: how's your vulture coming along?  The body doesn't need to be as dark as the head, so you have plenty of scope to show him in full vulture mode.
Lovely delicate work, Gillian. Dixie, you are a very busy sketcher. I've put my shelving unit up (need another) and found some a2 pads, and charcoal sticks long forgotten, they'll be having an outing, soon. Your vulture is a little different to your norm, Denise, a lively subject.
