Looking at this pic are those slippers he is wearing?  There was a nude man who wore slippers ……….
....who spilt the turps in his dippers........
……to wipe it all off …….he sat down with a cloth …….and got circumcised with his clippers.

Ouch! 😳 brilliant Marjorie, very funny! 😂
He was very distraught at the damage he wrought ...as it had only gone on his slippers .
Not sure if this is a painters forum any more or wannabe Limerick writers…..brilliant all of you .
Oh great stuff, both the risqué and the genteel versions, but , yes, we should concentrate on the paintings.  Hopefully, though, we haven't seen the last of Lewis posting his drawings with a rhyme or a limerick
In an effort to get back to where I was, I've returned to this.  Thanks to everybody for your comments, I missed some of it, because events got in the way.  I've decided to finish my drawing/limerick, and have taken bits from Linda, Denise and Sylvia.  I think it's better than my poor attempt.  Originally I had a backdrop of people in winter, the woman was supposed to be dreaming in mid-winter of a summer swim.  It makes no sense with that...so I've cut the wintry bit out in photoshop. Here's the revised pic and limerick... I've done nothing artwise for about two months.  Nothing.  I lost all interest in art.  Not just my drawing, but all art...I have a backlog of art programmes I've recorded but not yet watched.  I popped into POL a couple of times, but did little more than apply the odd 'like.' This surprises me, I've always had that interest, and have always done something...even if it was the quickest scribble. I'd never thought of art as therapy, it was just something I liked doing.  Maybe it is, so I need to get back to it.  Part of the problem for me is I prefer doing something humorous or just plain stupid...and I haven't felt very humorous lately. Had I a liking for still life or landscape I might well have done something by now.  Maybe. Time to get back on my bike and do something. I like some of the other limericks you came up with, perhaps I'll do something with them.
Welcome back, Lew.  Your loss of interest in art isn't at all surprising - you've suffered a dreadful bereavement; inevitably, you were deeply depressed; and a symptom of depression is precisely that loss of interest in everything in which you once took pleasure.  I'm not a doctor - just a sufferer from the disorder myself - a disorder in my case, but not in yours: since yours has an all too obvious cause. I hope your art is helping you now - the overlapping tootsies on your lovely lady are an inspired touch!
Hi Lewis so pleased to see you back, as Robert has already said it’s no surprise that you have lost interest in things. Hopefully this is a sign that you are beginning to feel there is light at the end of the tunnel. Sending love …
Great to see you on the way back Lewis.
So pleased  your back with us Lew, your work has been missed by many , but it’s understandable a- to why you were not feeling up to it. Looking forwards to seeing more of the brilliant work best wishes to you and your family.
