I’m on Sky and there’s no more scheduled as I can see, but Tai, as you rightly say, has just announced that it’s the final episode, so it probably is! Anyway, what a couple of fabulous segments to finish off with. The portrait of Fred was terrific to see progress, I’m loving those gorgeous graphic, almost calligraphic lines in the initial drawing, followed by some superb painterly blocking in. Surely that’s enough to inspire anyone to pick up a paint brush! For me, portrait painting has to be oils, okay, acrylic at a push, but watercolour just doesn’t cut it for me. And what a really interesting little play around from Tai, with his limited palette and his entertaining style of delivery, not to mention his obvious passion for painting!
I agree, Alan, both great sessions.  And I shall keep all 20 for inspiration and encouragement. Very clever work by Tai, which looked bizarre at first, yet resolved itself perfectly. The line drawing by Wendy Barratt was interesting and an inspiration for those focusing on drawing today...painting tomorrow?
It's back!  Part 2 from Monday onwards
Well now, that’s great news so thanks for the heads up Norrette. I haven’t seen it advertised myself, which is odd! It has its shortcomings like most programs of this type do, but certainly the best one I’ve seen and really enjoyable to watch… and indeed learn!
I'm not an avid facebook user, but it popped up when I went in yesterday. SkyArts don't pay much attention to advertising their programs.  There is no website showing upcoming programs etc, so you can miss a lot of interesting series.
I don't believe it, I've missed it again. I had all my three grandchildren out for the day yesterday as it's half term. I hope I can find it to watch later,  when I've finished at the sketching club.
It's not the 24th yet, Denise. 🙂
It’s this Monday coming Denise… you haven’t missed it!
That's great, I still must be half asleep recovering from running around with all the grandchildren yesterday. It takes me a full day to recover afterwards. 😆
Grandchildren- eh? Good for scrambling the head! Actually I’m on grandma duty on Monday, so will set to record. Thanks Norrette.
One of our art group brought her grandchildren to the group yesterday. It was refreshing...their work was good! I taught one of them 'tonking' to help recover a mistake.
Ah yes…good old Henry Tonks, I rarely use the method because I tend to paint thinly in the main. I have seen it done and it’s messy but it works up to a point - kids love a sticky mess so a good demo I’m sure !
