Ha, I've just noticed my pigeon drawing that I haven't gotten around to painting yet. Today, as I couldn't access my art stuff in the garden, I did a drawing of Penny Mordaunt. Well I sketched it first then made the lines strong when I was happy with it. I always have some pastels and graphite in the house. So decided to start building up some colour. I think she stole the show at the Coronation. Her outfit was almost like art deco and wouldn't have looked amiss on Lewis's thread. Don't know when I'll finish it as the workers are back in the garden tomorrow for the next few days.
Great start! She looked like some mythical nordic heroine at the coronation and you're capturing the seriousness of her demeanour already.
Absolutely brilliant Denise .
I see her dress was described as "teal" - well, that's not teal, is it?  I don't think fashion commentators have a clue about colour.  Anyway - yes, she did in part at least steal the show, as the first woman Lord President of the Council; and retained her composure and balance throughout - I remember royal occasions in the past when Field Marshal the Lord Montgomery of Alamein fainted in the heat (and nearly died); and when Lord Mountbatten swayed alarmingly while wielding the sword of state, but waved help away .... not easy, for old chaps undergoing these rituals!  It did increase my admiration for them - I can't help it: I may be an old lefty, but I'm a royalist at heart!  Traditions matter - they're the fabric of our lives, and it does us no good to despise them.
Great drawing Denise. I didn’t watch the coronation (don’t watch telly in general). I’ve outlined a sketch / design loosely based on ice cubes, and my intention is to print it out and then do various different things with it… I’ve joined a local art group recently, so rather than take all my paints and gubbins this week, wanted to take something less messy!

That's sounds like a really good idea. I like the design you ate using Helen. Robert, I do hope to get the colour looking a bit better. I do think she did an amazing job carrying the sword for that length of time. You could see the devotion in her to make sure she did a fine job.
Yes Penny M was very impressive Denise and so is your sketch! Look forward to seeing the finished article. Helen, what a great idea- ice cubes- looking good already. It never ceases to amaze me what subjects are out there for art. We just have to look and use our imagination. Looking forward to that result too!
I’ve doodled with aqua markers plus some sharpie pens on a section of my drawing from the other day, (printed onto some textured paper) and then doodled on top of that with bleach..
This has turned out wonderfully Helen and the colours are a great combination.

Impressive - wondering how you can stand the smell of bleach, though: it's the one pong that can send me straight to the sick-bucket.  However, and be that as it may (it's National cliché Week), this is great work.
Super Helen.
