Oh I do so hope! And well done to those who finally found the evidence to get him off the site. And to the Admin team of course. I've so missed some of my favourites, no way of knowing whether they've stopped, having a creative drought (like me), or have just left. And as Robert says, no way to entice them back. I really do value POL, even when not painting, and hated to see what was happening. Thank goodness for people like Robert, Sylvia, Alan et al. And on another topic, do look at the home page. There are some wonderful paintings at present, especially the gouache landscape.
Above all, let’s enjoy and celebrate original creativity. Keep painting everyone.
I’m not going to dwell on this issue, but how refreshing it was this morning to go to the gallery and not be confronted with four dreadful pieces of copied AI material (I can’t call it artwork)… that had been put on overnight! Credit to Helen and Jenny indeed, well done both of you!
Well done super sleuths, Helen and Jenny.
Thumbs up from me too!
The "Michaels" were a bit like Treasure Island to me, a fictional source waiting to be discovered. I think "he" played mind games because his "Walter Mitty/Billy Liar" existence was always going to be revealed sometime. I don't believe he intended any intent to defraud, because his "works" weren't saleable. I actually felt a bit sorry for him, because I believe he had some talent. I also don't believe he was a well person and possibly very lonely. His real sin was in not being honest. I offer this as a pure opinion that me be entirely wrong. There but for he Grace of God go I? ...............
I go to the supermarket, have a coffee, then log on…….!! Well done to everyone. As my dear mum used to say….””liars never come good””
Hello - I have just read this thread about multiple postings over short time frames and immediately recognise myself as one of the guilty. I am relatively new to painting (only about two years) and this has been my first attempt at any form of creating an on-line gallery. The paintings I posted had been created during those first two years. In my defence, if I have one, I was unaware of the effect that my multiple postings would have on my fellow artists, but now I have read the foregoing, I fully understand and appreciate the implications and their frustrations. Also, in my defence please, I was only doing what the system allowed me to do - so perhaps the system could do with a little tightening up regarding the numbers posted per 24 hours? Nonetheless. I can assure you that my actions were fuelled solely by an enthusiasm to join in and learn, rather than anything selfish or inconsiderate. In conclusion, however my action was perceived, I offer my sincere apologies to everyone, and can assure you that I will not repeat it. :-)
Martyn, no apology needed.  The person in question was not a 'proper' painter but used questionable AI methods.  Your work is very different so please keep posting.  I for one like what you do.
Just looked at your gallery  Martyn you have some nice work there.  I don't think you have been over posting....no apology needed.
No apology necessary Martyn, you are working within the rules and guidelines of the website, which is four postings maximum within a 24 hour period. I totally understand your reasoning, which is to create a portfolio of your work. I would say, and this is from my own experience and that of many other members,  you will generally attract more comments if you post less than the allotted number.
Martyn, don't feel you have to apologize for doing what the system allows.  When I joined, I read you can post 4 a day, and I did.   However, when I got round to posting no more than one at a time I found I got more comments.  Please keep posting.
