It is unfair, and unethical! I’d be interested in knowing who it is that you refer to Andrew.
Under this new regime, it’s unlikely (in my opinion) that they will take matters further, there isn’t the same policing or commitment.

This is very concerning, and undermines the whole concept of having the different categories.
It’s clearly laid out in the instructions, what constitutes a professional artist.
I’m taking this to be a serious violation or breach of the rules.
As an aside, I’m an amateur artist, but was advised some years ago not to enter as an amateur. This is after I’d received a couple of awards in the LP category.
When I questioned this, I was told that it was primarily because I was a feature writer for The Artist magazine.
I accepted this, although I’m an amateur and did in fact subsequently enter the professional category.

No, I understand your reasoning Andrew, a website alone doesn’t automatically mean you’re a professional!
The other named person is a different matter, I’m not letting this drop, I want and will demand answers.
One assumes that individual artists aren’t vetted as to their status, so I don’t think at this stage, that any onus could be placed on the organisers - but rely on each of us being honest…
