One of my favourite contemporary artists is Glyn Macey. He lives and works in Cornwall, I was lucky to see him do a demonstration at Patchings, before covid. He’s such a lively and fun loving person.
I have put him on the list Ellen. I know we should never be surprised at the diversity of a artist work but I am with Cursiter , the painting of the glass of milk is so well done the glass look real, and the flowers in vase again each petal done perfectly .  And then this was the next of his works to come up it at the other end of genera the scale,  but again done with so much skill.
Obviously a very skilful artist and thanks for the intro Gillian. I do especially like his buildings and coastal scenes.
I’d like to include Ken Howard RA, to the list, who will need little introduction to most of us on here. The majority of his work is based around the effects of light and his studio paintings featuring his sitters are surely unsurpassed.
He is now on the list Alan , thank you.
I am glad to have introduced you all to Stanley Cursiter not well known outside of Scotland but as you say Paul,  very skilful. The flowers are exquisite! Looking forward to seeing everyone’s suggestions to investigate!
Thank you Gillian for introducing him to us . I will start the new thread on Monday and will feature two artists from the list, I though starting the week off would be a good system as we than have the hole week to look and make comments.  Thank you all for you contributions, of names and comments, just add more to the list as you think of them.
Really enjoyed looking through the works of Stanley Cursiter. Such a varied body of work. I particularly liked looking at his portraits and wanted to add this one “Poppy Low”  I loved the pose and play of light on her dress.
I would like to note that it contravenes copyright laws to reproduce live artists work here without their permission.  Copyright also extends to works upto 70 years after their death.  Even if you give them credit, you still need their permission or the owner of the artists estate, if they are dead.
Linda, I’ve just taken this from a legal advice website.  “Certain use of copyrighted material for purposes such as criticism, comment, teaching …. is not an infringement of copyright.  As a matter of policy fair use is based on the belief that the public is entitled to freely use portions of copyrighted materials for the purpose of commentary and criticisms.”

As this topic was started by site admin personnel, one hopes that they have checked the rules. Perhaps they could could give us a definitive answer on the matter.
