Anglesey Paul. Thank you .
Good choice Sylvia, a favourite of mine also.
I will add him right now Sylvia , must be a local artist going by the name .

SIR Kyffin Williams to you, young sir!  He died a while ago, sadly, but was one of my favourites too: still is, come to that.
Sorry Mr Jones  . He is now  on the list Sylvia.

I love John Blockley's work. His landscapes are dynamic and loose and a dream to look at. I also like his daughters work. You can see some of her fathers influence in her work, although, her work is her own and is dynamic in it's own right.
I remember admiring John Blockley’s work in The Artist and LP mags - I used pastels a lot then myself.
The first painting I ever did was a tutorial painting from a book by John Blockley, looked nothing like his .
As people have already started looking at John Blockley, I might as well add my bit now.  He was (1921-2002) a popular British artist best known for his innovative approach to watercolour, although he also worked with pastel, mixed media and lithograph.  His daughter Ann is a very successful artist today and you can clearly see his influence in her work.  I was introduced to his work at art class when we were tasked with creating a painting in a similar style.  I love his work and also that of his daughter.  She has set up a website of his work at www.johnblockley.com and has also published a book of her father’s work.  These are a few of my favourite pieces of his (watercolour, pastel, lithograph and mixed media).

Lovely selection Jenny. We were discussing at art group this morning and mentioned how he was able to produce such great depth of colour and richness in his watercolours. Nothing ‘wish washy’ there!  I’m also familiar with his daughter Ann’s work and met her at an exhibition at her studio a few years ago. She also has a very interesting style. Kyffin Williams- another great choice Sylvia. I love his work and very distinctive style. Look forward to that. Aren’t we fortunate to have all these inspiring artists at the click of a screen!
He is certainly a prolific artist and extremely talented. The first one is the one  I tried to do when I first started painting but failed badly.  The others I  like a lot particularly the one of Staiths

Great selection Dixie. Here are a few I picked out.  I like to see someone producing rugged industrial scenes in watercolour.
