Welcome to this weeks thread , the featuring Artists  this week are : Alberto Mancini and Colin Davidson . Jenny will open the week with her introduction to Alberto Mancini , on Wednesday I will introduce  Colin Davidson . Have good week and do join in with your choice of the featuring artists work .
ALBERTO MANCINI (born 1960) is an Italian artist from the mountain village of Atina in southern Italy where his family has lived for 400 years.  His father, a portrait photographer, taught him to draw and encouraged him to experiment with a variety of media.  He had his first art exhibition at the age of 15, painting figures and landscapes in oil.  He now works mainly in watercolour and mixed media and prefers to use Canson paper, either coloured or white, at 220g. In 1973 he began studying architecture at the University of Architecture in Venice, and while there was encouraged in his painting by some of the most important Italian artists.  His painting at this time was devoted to the exploration of nature, and he also worked in theatre design. After graduation he returned to the mountains of southern Italy to practice architecture.  He also continued to paint and accrued various prestigious awards for his work.  He now lives and works in Brazil.

Wow  fabulous work thank you Jenny
Thanks for the intro Jenny , I do like what I’ve seen so far and will have a closer look tomorrow.
A terrific artist, just love his drawing style.
Fantastic! Thank you Jenny. Your first choice is particularly lovely, also the ballerina and the elephants, but I like them all. Going to hunt down his website now….
Some I’ve selected that I particularly like.
Hadn't heard of him but so pleased that Jenny had, wonderful work!
Wonderful way with watercolours and such beautifully done portraits.
A revelation and what a great choice.  Looking through his work the intensity of the gaze caught me with this one - I also found another but then checking back saw it was the 7th of Jenny's original selection.
Excellent work, all of it.
