This weeks bonus artist is Clive Madgwick 1934- 2005.
Self taught artist in oil, acrylic and watercolour, born in London and educated at Epsom College and London University. He took up painting in 1972 and progressed from landscapes to figures and sporting scenes .
Abby National commissioned him to paint abbeys in the UK and at its Baker Street headquarters. He is best known for capturing the realism of the English countryside. A relatively new artist to me however I very soon learned to appreciate his landscape paintings and the skill involved in painting them.
I hope you enjoy his artwork and find some of his work appealing.

I thought it was just me - or that I'd seen some of these self-same paintings somewhere else. Not to worry, Paul - they WERE worth another look.
You haven't repeated all of them, I think - those crisp snow scenes are impressive.
Did I ever suggest John McCombs to you, by the way? If not, I should have done.

Thank you for putting up with my clumsiness . Had a week of airport , station and other running around foolishly I trie to do the thread very quickly between runs , and typically it didn’t work out .
I would line to introduce John Haywood , A British watercolorist that I only came across last week . I have taken this from the Sussex Watercolour Society. “ I’m a passionate watercolour painter of landscapes , cityscape and interiors. I love the immediacy of watercolour and it’s infinite magical subtleties . In my mind there is no better medium to capture the feeling of the play of light across a scene.
I don’t seek create an exact representation but try to capture and evoke a distinctive sen e of mood, drama, and atmosphere
