Welcome to this weeks thread  the featuring artists this week are : Heidi Langridge and Arthur Terry Blaimires.  Jenny will open with her introduction to Heidi Langridge and on Wednesday I will introduce Arthur Terry Blaimires.  Enjoy your artwork and have a good week.
A gorilla yesterday; a warthog today - are you really quite SECURE in your identity?
HEIDI LANGRIDGE is a Sussex based, largely self-taught, artist known for her vibrant paintings of British garden birds, often set against colourful, abstract backgrounds.   She began her painting career by chance in 1999 after coming across an art department and, feeling uplifted by the brushes, paints and canvases, decided then that she wanted to become an artist, subsequently joining a community of painters establishing an artists’ quarter on the Brighton seafront.  In 2007, after years of painting still life and landscapes, she found that what she loved to paint was birds.  Inspired by Chinese art, she works from photographs and often repeat paints the same bird.  She works with acrylics on board and her typical painting sizes range from around 30 x 30 cm to 50 x 50 cm. After almost 20 years of painting from her own gallery in Brighton, she now lives on the South Downs and works from her own home studio.

Like her nice bright cheerful work Jenny , it’s all there but with no fuss , thanks for the introduction I will have a look at her  artwork more closely online .
Missed these as I was away from home. They are lovely, with simple colourful backgrounds which seem to have a life of their own. I will have a look later. Thanks as ever Jenny, another good find.
Some of her work that’s a bit different to the ones Jenny posted plus a few I particularly like.
I like the brush work and bold colours also the birds are accurately painted which is important.
She simplifies her subjects and background so well. It seems I like yellow!
The bird paintings are particularly appealing, a lesson here on how to approach backgrounds…less is more as they say!
Arthur Terry Blamires 1930-  Is an English artist born in Batley Yorkshire who taught geography before becoming a full time artist in 1984.  He paints scenes of the Lake District and Yorkshire in oils in a style that depicts the scenes accurately and factually. I hope you enjoy my choices of his artwork.
Skilful and the amount of detail is extraordinary… albeit not tight! Well some might say it is I suppose! The colour and rendering of those mountains in Paul’s first and third image is so good!

I like best the second of Paul’s selection.  I can appreciate the huge amount of skill involved in this artist’s work, although it’s not a subject or style that really appeals to me.
