KATHLEEN CADDICK was born in 1937 in Liverpool, but grew up in Buckinghamshire where she was inspired by the beech woods and distant views offered by the Chilterns.  Having studied at High Wycombe School of Art she worked as a freelance designer until her son was of school age and then taught art for a number of years.  She then turned to graphics and ran a busy design studio during which time she was also an examiner for City and Guilds courses. She started to paint on a full time basis in 1968 and in 1976 began to etch, working with Reich British Art in Germany and CCA Galleries.  Her natural style of concise line and delicate hand colouring led to etching as her chosen medium, working on commissions for the National Trust and Woodland Trust.  Her subject matter of trees and their muted colours has remained constant.  Bleached grasses, weathered posts and buildings, cow parsley and glimpses of distant hills all express the feeling of space and tranquility.

These are so good.  Huge admiration for every picture you’ve posted Jenny.

I like them all too, fabulous artist.
She creates wonderful perspective and distance work. I prefer her coastal scenes to her countryside views and my favourites are numbers 5-8. Her subtle use of colour is outstanding.
Some fabulous etchings among these, a few I’d class as exceptional in fact! Anyone that does drypoint etchings, which is what these are, will appreciate the challenges of the medium. Difficult to select just one of these on show, but the building with numerous windows, a couple of trees in front, is a tour de force!
What a superb artist, everyone of Jenny has posted is outstanding, I have to say the trees are particularly good, but then so is everything else.
I agree. It's difficult to choose only one.
Some more of her beautiful etchings.  Much as I like her countryside views, like Tessa I find her coastal scenes more interesting.

Just love her work , I found some that I particularly like , apologise if they have all ready been posted.
Amy Werntz ,is a self taught American artist based in Dallas , growing up in an artistic family art and craft where always encouraged, her chosen medium is oils . Amy received her BFA in Interior Design in 2002, creating art in her spare time, in 2010 she decided to peruse her art on s full time basis . In her artwork she focuses on ordinary people around her . Artist statement. Unusual for me to find portraiture so interesting as it’s something I don’t do or know a great deal about , her work just made me stop and take a better look . Yes there are hyper realistic something I normally done take to but for some reason they just hit that spot we have when we see something as beautiful as her work.  I hope you like the paintings I have selected and find others to share and enjoy.
